iGoogle goes to the Google Graveyard

Just a little page I came across today.
Many people use iGoogle - well listen up : Google just announced the death of iGoogle.
I'm quite surprised, because I know a lot of people using this. I hope they reconsider.

In the meantime, check out the unofficial Google graveyard and the petition to stall the death of iGoogle.

How to opt out of targeted advertisements

I've read quite a few articles on tailored or targeted advertisements on the internet.

As I recall, some provided links to opt out here and there, and also giving advice on particular cookies to watch out for.

But the following article gives the real thing - 2 web pages that completely analyze your ad dependency and present a way to opt out of all these hyper-commercial data gathering monstrosities.

Here's my own score, which frankly got me more than a little spooked!

UPDATE - It's getting clearer by the day that this is a hoax

Well, I guess I'm fast enough this time.

Here is the link to the leaked technology paper on the XBOX 720.
Looking good for 299$ ;-)

Stats and more...

Hey everyone,

I've just passed 3000 unique viewers this weekend after about 1 year of blogging (and a 150 posts). A drop in the ocean called the Internet. But as this blog is something to amuse me and my closest friends, I never asked for more.
I've been quite inactive the last couple of months, though I've still followed most of the news (E3, Nvidia vs AMD, Intel vs AMD, Computex, Wii U, Samsung Galaxy III, Facebook IPO, new Apple stuff etc.). But by the time I could post it on my blog, it was already outdated and I suppose everybody has read about it by then.
So, I'll focus a bit more on the amazing articles I sometimes find online, such as these :

The most dangerous gamer : an in depth look at Jonathan Blow and his games Braid and The Witness

&

What Facebook knows (about us) - and what is it going to do with that ?

Hope you like these and come back for more!

Darksiders - the finishing story!

Darksiders rules, no really, it does.
This must be the best 3rd person action slash fest I've ever played. The storyline is somewhat confusing but great nonetheless, the characters are inspiring (in an asskicking way) and the artwork and action is second to none.

Here is the video of the end boss and animations  - enjoy!

And check out details on the soon to arrive sequel - Darksiders 2 - Death Lives ...

Back with a vengeance!

Finally some time to post again. And what better subject than the beloved Mechwarrior franchise?!

A lot has happened for Mechwarrior Online since my last post - GDC has come and gone and the forums look very lively. Go take a look at all the videos and artwork - it looks amazing!

For starters, check out the first gameplay video - it is brutal!

Then head over to the main course, after the break...

If Google were invented in the 80s ...

Only retro scene guyz will 'get' this (but I'm still LMAO!)

Watch the video after the break - if you're curious enuf  ^_^

Wing Commander is BACK

Yes, you read that right, the 20 year old grandmother of Epic Space Opera combat is coming to a pc near you! (probably the one's screen you're looking at right now).
And all of this courtesy of a fan based mod development called Wing Commander Saga that has been 10 years in the making!
Here's the promo video that just launched :

A new way to make Games - Part 2

Well, another month, another Kickstarter project to self fund another legendary gaming title.
This time it's Wasteland, or more exactly, Wasteland 2. A sequel that game designer extraordinaire Brian Fargo wants to make using just our money (and a 100K of his own ^_^ ).

Check out the video on their homepage after the break. It's hilarious and I'm seriously considering joining the fundraising on this one. I loved Fallout and also Jagged Alliance. This game will probably be worth it!
