Pinball 2.0 At Last

I just found some amazing stuff on the future of pinball, and it's called Hyperpin. It still looks a bit "experimental", especially to build the cabinet. But boy, do I wanna try one of these!

Check out the video below for an awesome glimpse of classic tables like Addams Family, Funhouse, Twilight Zone, etc. playable at home.

Then hit the links after the break to find out how to do it yourself using Hyperpin and Visual Pinball...

Back to the "BeeB"

The BBC Micro turns 30 today. I never owned this home computer from the '80s. I was stuck with a ZX81 and then a Sinclair QL (figure that!) but I eagerly followed all the BBC computing programmes on tv (since I lived in just about the only area at the time where you could watch the BBC channels abroad).

Here's a bunch of great articles on what those times were like and how that machine and its rivals influenced the giants of today, in gaming, IT technology and everything in between.

At the BBC site

You can also watch Micro Men here -  a great docu-drama on the rivalry between Sinclair and Curry at that time

MameHUB

Mame what? Well, how does Gauntlet or Super Sprint MultiPlayer ONLINE sound to you ?
In short, it seems some very enterprising coders have been at work to make a Mame vesion playable over the internet!

Building the perfect SNES emulator

Everyone loves emulators but I never had a clue this could get so complicated.
A very fine article explaining the complexities of emulation.
